"For
now people could get their passports in just 10 days through an online
application"
Who said
it?
Minister
of External Affairs.
NO.
Then Who?
Ministry Of Home Affairs .
YES.
Over the years the government
receives flood of complaints with regard to police verification, delaying the
process.
Hence, so as to make it easy for the applicants, the
Ministry of Home Affairs suggested that the Passport will be issued on only
Aadhar Identification Number, there will be no Post or Pre Police Verification
for Passport.
All you
have to do is file an online application. Besides, there is no need to provide
with myriads of documents as proof of identity, for your Aadhar Card will suffice. You
can fix an appointment as per your convenience within 3 days of applying, in
next 7 days you will receive your passport.
Why Aadhar :
Government of India has sought to keep track of the
criminal background of applicants through Aadhar Card. So if you are applying
for passport and do not have the Aadhar card, get it made as soon as possible.
Here the QUESTION is :
"Whether
the Minister of External Affairs likely to be implemented Ministry Of Home Affairs proposal
by considering to make submission of Aadhaar Cards mandatory for making
passports and by discontinuing police verification."
Question
asked by MP SHRI P.P. CHAUDHARY, in the Lok Sabha on dated
10.12.2014.
THE
MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF EXTERNAL AFFAIRS GEN. (DR) V. K.
SINGH (RETD), answered :
"There
is no proposal to discontinue police verification for issuing of passports by
making submission of Aadhar Cards mandatory "
Some papers shall distributed the
news as they are said, but there are many thing that had to be taken in
consideration before any decision is made by the authorities, there is a difference between
proposal and decision.
I personally request friends and all, if you read or see any such news anywhere, always referred
to it's web portal to confirm it.
All the decisions and
advisory are regularly updated on the Passport Portal for all Citizen by the
authorities.
