PUNE: A passport mela will be organized by the city-based Regional Passport Office at the Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) in Mundhwa on January 17 for applicants applying under the normal category, a statement issued by the passport office said.
A maximum of 900 applications for re-issue of passports under the normal category will be accepted during the mela, which will benefit passport applicants from Pune, Ahmednagar, Kolhapur, Sangli, Satara and Solapur. On hold, walk-in, tatkal and police clearance certificate applications will not be entertained on the day.
Appointments for the mela will be released on the Passport Seva website at noon on January 11. People are requested to use a fast internet connection, the statement issued by regional passport officer Atul Gotsurve said.
To secure an appointment, applicants should first register on the website with details of the application and pay the required fee. Only applicants with valid appointments will be allowed to enter the PSK, the statement clarified. People may visit the PSK with their application reference number sheet, which has a valid appointment along with all the required original documents, it added.
